We are extremely proud to announce that acdc’s very own Design Director, Dan Hodgson, has been selected as a judge for the 2015 Lighting Design Awards.  The illustrious judging panel features some of the biggest names in lighting and our judges visit every shortlisted project.

Now in their 12th year, the Lighting Design Awards command the respect of the lighting community and are recognised as the pre-eminent architectural lighting competition in the lighting calendar.

Dan has been working in the lighting industry for the last 16 years since graduating from St Martins with an MA in Industrial Design.  He then worked as an architectural lighting designer at Light Projects. After leaving Light Projects, he worked as an architectural lighting designer at Campbell Design and as an associate at BDP, before joining the team at acdc more than three years ago. As a lighting designer, Dan has worked on lighting schemes for everything from hospitality to masterplans, from New York to Kuwait, with high-profile clients including Nike, Reiss and Harrods. During his time at acdc, the design team has launched a number of ranges. His first year resulted in 18 new fittings and more than three new ranges (two of which were highly commended at the LDAs). In 2013, acdc’s design team scooped the external luminaire of the year award at the LDAs for its LED floodlight – Fusion. Dan also won an LDA for Dagenham Civic Centre whilst at Campbell Design.
