IALD Design Palooza Presents | Richard Carman, Architectural Illustrator
Written by acdc on February 10, 2014>
The IALD Design Palooza’s continue, with Richard Carman visiting acdc’s London studio on the 6th May.
Richard is an experienced architectural illustrator, bringing the projects of architects, designers and developers to life visually. His original training and experience working as an architect undoubtedly gives him an advantage as he is able to work from his own sketches or from computer generated information. All his final illustrations are produced entirely by hand in watercolour, ink and crayon.
His clients range from urban designers to developers, from architects to individuals and the projects he has worked on range from the Tate Modern and the House of Lords to private houses and local authority developments.
Richard will offer tips on perspective, talk through examples of his work for clients such as Balfour Beatty Construction, CZWG, Centros Miller, Herzog & de Meuron, Kajima, Land Securities and Alfred Mc Alpine, showing you via practical demonstration some of the techniques he uses to create these beautiful illustrations.
The IALD Design Palooza is a series of talks intended primarily, but not exclusively, for IALD student members and emerging professionals interested in careers in lighting design. Some of the world’s most inspiring designers will present their work and show that there’s more to lighting than putting circles on drawings.
