David Atkinson | Diversity in Lighting

On the 30th September, David Atkinson, Creative Director at DALD and triple winner of the Lighting Designer of the year award, will be talking about  ‘Diversity in Light’ as part of the ILP How to be Brilliant series.

David will will be discussing his initial influences from the world of Art, film, theatre and live entertainment, which has lead into the diversity of projects he has been involved with over the the past 25 years, including:

  • Museums
  • Interactive projects
  • Hotels
  • External Landscape Lighting
  • Hospitality venues
  • Retail

Here’s a taster of what to expect….



David studied at LAMDA and after spending several years in theatre, commercial presentation, music, fashion and television he established as an independent designer for architectural installations.  He is an associate member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Current projects include the U.A.E Pavilion – EXPO Milano 2015;Commonwealth Park in Gibraltar; SKY Skills Scotland; SKY Iconic at Westfield and William Ken Exhibition at the V&A London.
