200 runners dressed in special remote-controlled LED suits opened the Edinburgh International Festival 2012.

The volunteer runners, were led through choreographed routines by team leaders. In addition, about 800 audience members per night were led on to Arthur’s Seat (an extinct volcano!) to watch the performance. They carried specially designed light sticks.

Creative Director Angus Farquhar said he wanted to “re-invoke the Olympic spirit of co-operation as well as competition.”
